CNA students at Job Corps

Academics

In addition to career training, New Orleans Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.

GED/High School Diploma

One of our top goals at New Orleans Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her GED/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Students who don't already have a high school diploma upon their arrival at New Orleans can enroll in our GED/high school program.

GED preparation, Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE) assessments, and GED certificates are offered according to the Louisiana Department of Education requirements.

Our high school diploma program, administered by the New Summit High School Program, is a self-paced program offered through technology. All classes are monitored by a certified high school instructor.
